Exercise 3: Kinetic Typography
For this assignment, we have to create a kinetic typography project in groups. The groups were assigned by Mr. Martin, and these are my group members
VALERIUS ETHAN WIRAWAN 0372774 (LEADER)
AQUELA ZEFANYA SOARES 0374377
CINDY NOVERIN 0376409
FELICE JOLIN 0373636
JENNIFER MICHELLE HIENDRAWAN 0374682
Muhammad Baihaqi Desya 0377271
SHANNEN HIEW KAR YEE 0354055

First, we discussed which song we would use for this assignment. Initially, we chose the song ‘APT.’ However, since we felt that the song lacked expressive elements, we decided to change it and use ‘Luther’ by Kendrick & SZA instead.
After selecting the song for this assignment, we discussed about the color palette, typography, and overall visual style. This is our moodboard.

We decided to divide the lyrics into several sections, with each member responsible for one part. Afterwards, we combined all sections into a single composition and collaboratively created the transitions to ensure a cohesive result. Below is the task distribution (my assigned part)

After that, I typed the lyrics and inserted the visual elements into After Effects one by one.

I adjusted the position, scale, and opacity of each line and set the keyframes accordingly. Here are some of the progress

I used null objects to ensure smoother movement, shifting the lyrics left and right in synchronization with the song. I use null object for each lines. Here are some of the examples:
I also added animations to selected words and applied effects that corresponded to the meaning of the lyrics.

Fig 3.14 Example
Here are the progress. First i created the donut data one by one by adding the trim parts on the beginning and the end of the circle.
